Summer Reading Assignment
Choose a book from the list below to read. While you are reading, think about what you can learn about a society from the tales that they consider "heroic" or filled with lessons of value. When you are finished reading the book, write a letter to your teacher about your experience.
Some possible things to include in your letter:
* What happened in the book?
* What traits describe the main character?
* Are you interested in reading other myths, legends, fables, or folktales?
* Did anything surprise you about the book?
* Did you like the book (It's okay if you didn't :-))? Why or why not?
